Everything you need to know about our Glasgow food tours.
How long do the tours last? When and where do they start?
Our lunchtime tours start at 11:30 a.m. and are over around 2:30 p.m. We’ll meet at a central Glasgow meeting point. After the tour we can bring you to the town centre or, if you prefer, to one of our favourite local pubs.
How much does it cost?
The cost is £85 per adult, and includes all food, (non-alcoholic) drink, and banter.
How many people can a tour accommodate? Can I do a private tour?
In order to provide a truly personal Glasgow experience, we usually limit our tours to small groups of up to six people. We can give you an entirely private tour, by prior arrangement, for an additional fee, and can also arrange private bespoke tours for larger groups.
We have a two-person minimum. Solo travellers are welcome, but the two-person minimum cost still applies. If you’re flying solo feel free to drop us a line and we can try and book you onto an existing tour.
Can kids go on the tour?
We welcome children on our tour. The cost for kids 3 to 11 is £65, and babies can come for free. Just be aware that there is some walking on our tour, but it’s all stroller-friendly.
If there are children in your group please include a note in the questionnaire with the ages of the children and anything else you think we should know.
Will I be able to understand Steven’s accent?
Although Steven is a native Glaswegian, he is unique in being completely understandable.
How much physical activity is there?
The tour is a walking tour, although not a strenuous one. It’s usually 5-10 minutes between stops on flat, paved streets. If you have mobility issues, please let us know.
Is the tour appropriate for vegetarians?
We can easily accommodate lacto-ovo vegetarians on the tour, so if you eat cheese and eggs, you’re good to go! We apologise but we do not offer vegan tours. The experiences we offer reflect the traditional foodways of Glasgow, which do tend to contain butter, cheese, and eggs.
What about a tour for those who eat gluten-free? Or a pork-free tour? Or a tour for those with allergies?
It’s possible to arrange a tour without pork or red meat, or most allergens. Please let us know in advance about your dietary requirements and we will do everything we can to accommodate you. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before making a booking. Unfortunately we cannot accommodate those who follow a gluten-free diet at the present time.
What if it rains?
Don’t worry! We’re Glasgwegians and we are used to working around it. One of the things about the Scottish climate is that it has driven a fantastic indoor culture — why do you think our patter is so good?
What’s your cancellation policy?
Tours that are cancelled at least 7 days in advance will be refunded in full, while tours cancelled at least 72 hours in advance will be refunded 50%. You are welcome to change the date of your tour up to 48 hours in advance.
Guests who do not show up at the designated time for their pickup will be considered no-shows after 20 minutes, and the cancellation policy above will apply. We will give you a phone number with your tour confirmation, so if you’re running late give us a call and we can work something out.
Please read our full cancellation policy and liability release.
How do I book?
At the moment, we’re only open a few days a week based on Steven’s work as a chef. Please let us know when you will be in town and if you’re flexible on dates, and we can work around your schedule. We look forward to introducing you to Glasgow!
